Frantisek Kupka

Biography		   


FrantiĊĦek Kupka (September 23, 1871 - June 24, 1957) was a Czech painter. He was born in Opocno in eastern Bohemia. He studied at the Prague Art Academy, Akademie der Bildenden Kuste in Vienna, Academie Julian in Paris and the ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

Kupka's contribution to the early phases of the abstract movement is increasingly being recognized.
