Xu BeihongXu Beihong (July 19, 1895 - September 26, 1953) (born in Yixing, Jiangsu) was a Chinese painter. Considered a modern master in China, his merging of Western techniques with classic Chinese approaches was unmatched. He is particularly known for his shuimohua depictions of horses and birds.
