Leonardo Da Vinci (1452-1519)
Leonardo Da Vinci, a painter, draftsman, sculptor, architect, and engineer whose genius, perhaps more than that of any other figure, epitomized the Renaissance humanist ideal. His notebooks reveal a spirit of scientific inquiry and a mechanical inventiveness that were centuries ahead of his time.

subjectRe: Mona Lisa
messageIt is reported that the portrait of Mona Lisa is actually a self-portrait. This would explain the "half-man, half-woman" reference in the Da Vinci Code. Given the date in history, it is doubtful that a hermaphrodite would be pleased about his/her condition because such aperson would likely be considered as evil. The woman in the painting is the wife of someone.
